A recent Washington Post article announced that the cost of the Health Care Law, signed by President Obama, could add $340 Billion to the deficit over the next decade. If this report is correct that’s some pretty glum news. In fact little of the promises made, when the landmark bill was made law, has come about.
But despite the evidence that the law is fiscally nothing like the way it was sold, nor has it increased accessibility—many in the health profession have exited their industry, and ; in a real way average working private-sector worker has felt more pain: There is no reason to take joy in the Health Care Law’s tenuous nature. In a very real way the Law’s success, even at this early stage, would have helped employers and by proxy their employees. Imagine if the cost-curve of health care had been helped by the implementation of the early regulations in the law. This would have been great news for everyone. But alas, such great news has not materialized.
